I Bought The AE12 PowerStar Electric
Tankless Water Heater And Couldn't
Ask For More In A Water Heater
by Samia
While no system is 100% perfect, I couldn't ask for more from my Powerstar electric tankless water heater - it just stands out in performance.
The PowerStar Electric Tankless Water Heater Is The Best Buy In My Opinion.
I bought an electric hot water model because I value safety and comfort and at home.
In Fact, The Idea Of Getting A Gas Tankless Water Heater Never Crossed My Mind Because
- Getting the gas refilled is a headache
- I feel its more dangerous in case of a gas leak
- It has to be fitted with proper ventilation facility (to many points to worry about)
I've both heard of and read about the high efficiency of the gas tankless water heater but let me tell you, my "PowerStar AE12" tankless electric water heater has not let me down even once.
My "AE12 PowerStar" Electric Tankless Water Heater Is A True Performer
Its worth the buy. This solid unit cost me around $269 - a bit higher than the standard gas versions. The unit is medium sized as any other normal unit and few of its notable features are:
- Has a Max Flow Rate (45° rise): 1.75 GPM and
- Power: 208/240 Volts and
- Amps (Minimum): 50 its a multi-purpose unit and it's a point-of-use water heater.
I'm Glad That I Didn't Have To Do Anything Special To Install My Water Heater
I had the service tech come over and he do the installation, and haven't had any problems so far so I haven't felt the necessity to fiddle with my heater so far.
As I've installed my heater for bathroom purposes alone, I don't find any fault with my heater and iqve not felt the need to use a recirculating pump so far.
Now, Don't Get Me Wrong, Nothing Is 100% Perfect.
Manufacturing ads now-a-days often advertise beyond the products capability, but there are a few drawbacks with the tankless model.
- As with any other water heater, scales build up in the heating pipes. Regular servicing ensures that the scales were removed and the system worked fine. There were also times when i had to get the pipes washed with vinegar to remove the scales.
- For continuous usage like showers etc.. it works fine. But...if I were to stop and start the heater frequently, it gives a shot of cold water and then slowly adds the hot water back in.
I Cannot Ask More From My Current Powerstar Electric Tankless Water Heater, Cause It Just Stands Out In Performance
I wouldn't think of replacing my current water heater any sooner and even if i were to replace in the near future, the chances that I would go for the same unit are high unless another catches my eye.
Oh, yes, and I've heard people whine about their pitiable state after they bought a tankless water heater. While the hot-cold-hot sandwich experience might be true, in my opinion, it's because they didn't do their homework to find a unit that would work best for their water usage needs.
If You Are Seriously Considering Buying An Tankless Electric Hot Water Heater, Then Do Your Homework.
Think through what kind of system you will actually need. Also consider your finances as well. As there are pros and cons to any home-improvement purchase.
Thus, you will need to weigh the pros and cons of having an tankless electric hot water heater and then decide. As for me, I have no regrets and so I believe that my Powerstar electric tankless water heater will pay off handsomely for me in the long term.
