I'm quite aware that tankless technology is just starting to take off. As an advocate of energy efficiency, I highly recommend considering buying a tankless gas water heater.

I'm An Advocate Of Tankless Water Heaters And I'm Absolutley Pleased With My Tankless Gas Water Heater Purchase

  • Tankless water heaters use less energy because they aren’t always using energy to keep a tank full of water hot.

  • They heat the water as it’s needed rather than keeping the water hot all of the time.

  • Your water heater can account for up to 25% of your overall energy bill.

So When We Recently Needed To Replace Our Water Heater, I Couldn't Wait To Buy A Tankless Gas Water Heater For My Home

When our water heater needed to be replaced my husband and I did some research and decided to go with a tankless water heater. We decided to purchase a gas tankless water heater because after doing our research we found out that electric tankless water heaters cost on average the same as a conventional electric water heater over its lifespan.

And We Were Interested In Saving Energy And Saving Some Money In The Process.

We were also excited that the tankless gas water heaters don’t take up much space. They’re ideal for smaller homes that don’t have the floor space for a traditional water heater.

Another advantage to having a tankless water heater - if your bathroom is located near your tankless water heater you’ll get your hot water a lot faster. You won’t be waiting what can seem like forever for your water to get warm.

Though I've Talked Primarily About The Pros Of Having A Gas Tankless Water Heater - There Are Also Some Cons

The first con to buying a tankless gas unit is that fact that the gas tankless water heater is much more expensive to purchase than a conventional water heater. So even though you’ll be saving in the long run the initial cost is more.

Also, if you don’t have a gas line installed in your home already you would have the cost of having one installed. Which can be a costly endeavor.

The Tankless Gas Water Heater - My Bottom-Line

In my opinion the benefits of a gas tankless hot water heater outweigh any of the minor problems that might arise with this model. Over the lifetime of the unit you’ll save a large amount of money by saving energy.

However, there is one caveat: if you’re planning to put your house on the market to sell it you may not have to educate both your realtor and the potential home buyers about the energy-efficient nature of the gas tankless water heater unit.

  • The benefits of these units aren’t widely known so it may deter someone from purchasing your home if they aren’t familiar with the benefits of a tankless water heater.
