There’s a famous song sung by the band Poison saying “Every rose has its thorns”, implying that every good thing do come with some limitation. The same was the case with my tankless gas water heater.

There’s a famous song sung by the band Poison saying “Every rose has its thorns”, implying that every good thing do come with some limitation. The same was the case with my tankless gas water heater.

At First Glance, My Tankless Gas Water Heater Was A Good Idea

At first when I first heard of it I was amazed by the technology and yet its simplicity. So I just went to market and bought one, as winter was on its top. It was freezing. So, I opted to purchased a gas-enabled tankless unit.

The Three Main Reasons I Bought My Gas Tankless Hot Water Heater Are

  1. I could run my tankless gas water heater without electricity,

  2. I could save on my electricity costs, and

  3. In case of a power outage, I wouldn't have to wait for hot water.

So, As You Can See, The Gas Tankless Hot Water Heater Was An Obvious Choice For My Family.

I bought a point-of-use unit that cost me around $70 and it had 6L capacity, i.e. it can heat water up to this capacity. It wasn’t a big brand - it was of Kyoko Pvt Ltd, manufactured in China.

My Installation Steps

I made it a point of use water-heater. The main task during installation was a little plumbing work, which had to be done in order to give the heater a connection to the water pipe to which tap was attached. And a hook was attached in the wall to place the heater. Then one connection of gas had to be given to the water heater.

The Thing I Like Most About My Tankless Gas Water Heater Is That It Is Easy To Maintain And Operate

All I have to do is just adjust the flame size, turn on the water tap and Voila.!! I start getting hot water in about 20-30 seconds.

But The Thing I Like Least About My Tankless Gas Water Heater Is Dealing With Decreasing Water Pressure

  • As time passes water keeps getting hotter and hotter. It was good to begin with, but then the wait to get hot water was painful as the amount of water coming out was very less.

  • Another thing that concerns me about having a tankless gas hot water heater is having to deal with a potential gas leak. A gas leak is something that my father had to deal with at one time, but it long ago and it was not with the product that I'm using.

I Don't Regret Buying My Gas Tankless Water Heater One Bit

Still I don’t regret buying it and we’ve removed it from bathroom to kitchen, as it is more open place and it caters the basic needs of hot water required in kitchen.

My Tankless Water Heater Buying Recommendation

The two things you will need to remember while buying a tankless water heater are:

  • First, decide whether to buy a gas or electric one.

  • If there’s no problem of power outages, go with electric one.

  • If I Have To Replace My Gas Unit Sometime In The Future, Then I Would Re-Consider Buying An Electric Tankless Water Heater

What I'm noticing is that as time passes, electric tankless technology is evolving and electric tankless water heaters are getting better and better.

Hope You Have A Good Experience Buying A Tankless Water Heater That Meets Your Needs And Expectations. Best Of Luck
